The big finish – how to hit the right note
with your exit music

We think it’s important that your recessional should start with a bang. It’s not normally a good idea to choose a piece that takes a while to get going, as by the time you get to the “good bit” you’ll be on your second glass of champagne at the reception!

Traditionally, bridal couples have chosen Mendelssohn’s Wedding March from the incidental music to A Midsummer Night's Dream as their recessional (ie exit) music, but you don’t have to follow the crowd.

Book your ceremony musicians through us, and you can pick our brains to find a recessional you and your guests will never forget.

If the organ’s up to it, why not go for something dramatic like:

• Vierne L - Finale, from Symphony No. 1
• Widor CM - Toccata, from Symphony No.5

…or something a bit quirky such as:

• Strauss J - Radetsky March
• Sousa J-P - The Liberty Bell (Monty Python theme tune)

If you’ve booked one of our fantastic choirs, it’d be a pity not to involve them at your exit. How about something like:

• Handel GF – Hallelujah Chorus

…or for a very different ending, even:
