Frequently asked questions about DJs and discos

Who are your DJs?

We have a team of over twenty DJs, including specialists in each area are full time professional entertainers. They work in evening dress (black tie), unless requested otherwise, and operate a strict "no-smoking / no-alcohol" policy whilst working.

The DJs are happy not to use a microphone during the evening and play the music without interruption. Alternatively, all our DJs are experienced in announcing dedications and encouraging guests onto the dancefloor if you prefer this style of presentation.

Although many of our DJs have played at Camden Palace, Ministry of Sound, Leisure Lounge, Chunnel Club, and Gass, they all appreciate that playing the music best suited to your guests is the priority for your evening.

What disco equipment do your DJs use?

The disco equipment supplied is of the highest quality.
All equipment is less than 18 months old, conforms to Health & Safety legislation and recommendations, and is regularly serviced and tested according to PAT and EMC electrical safety regulations.

A typical specification would comprise twin Denon DN1800F CD players, American DJ Q2422 audio mixer with two microphone inputs, 1000W Electrovoice sound system with 2 x EV SX200/300 loudspeakers on stands, P1250 EV amplifier, with on-board equalisation and SM58 microphone on 6.0m cable. Lighting comprises two Twister 3/250w contra-rotating lighting heads with sound activated colour changers and gobos.

How should I go about compiling a repertoire list?

As a rule it is better to request a core of, say, 15-20 songs, and let the DJ use his expertise to compile the rest of the music list, basing his programme on the styles of the music that you have specifically requested.

Although you can specify every song, bear in mind that this gives the DJ no flexibility if your guests don't dance to the songs you like. We guarantee to play your requests, provided they are currently available on UK release.
