Fees for music at civil ceremonies

We're often asked why our website doesn't give any costings. Briefly the reasons are as follows:

  1. No two weddings are the same, and each wedding has numerous variables (timings, date, location, nature of music required etc), all of which can affect the cost.

  2. Generally speaking, musicians are more in demand from Friday to Sunday, and from April to October (and Christmas/New Year, of course!). So if you were to ask us about two similar functions, one on a Thursday in February and the other on a Saturday in July, you wouldn't be surprised to hear that the former would be more competitively priced!

  3. We only use professional musicians, and whereas we prefer to use locally-based musicians where possible, we will only do so if this would not compromise the standard of the performers we offer you. Since the vast majority of the country's professional musical life is based around London, this means that we are often compelled to recommend London-based musicians for engagements away from London, and this in turn incurs travel expenses and sometimes accommodation too.

  4. Not all musicians charge the same, and to quote a specific figure could be misleading. For example, our solo singers start from about £250.00 + VAT, but we have one or two whose fees are in five figures. The "right" singer will depend on your requirements.

Please contact us and, once we've ascertained your requirements, we'll be able to give you an approximate costing immediately, and a definite costing in writing shortly afterwards.
