Whether playing traditional or contemporary music, it’s hard to imagine a more romantic sound than that of the harp - which is probably why it is such a popular choice for civil ceremony and background music.

A particularly good option if space is at a premium, the harp can also provide a lovely accompaniment to a solo singer.

Some couples prefer the traditional Celtic harp (the clarsach). This is smaller - and therefore more portable - than the concert harp, so it is a particularly good choice if your harpist will need to play in more than one location. The clarsach sounds like this:
