Harp music - always popular, particularly for
intimate civil weddings

Whether playing traditional or contemporary music, it’s hard to imagine a more romantic sound than that of the harp - which is probably why it is such a popular choice for civil ceremony and background music.

A particularly good option if space is at a premium, the harp can also provide a lovely accompaniment to a solo singer.

The recordings above feature the concert pedal harp, which is the most popular type of harp used at weddings.

Some couples prefer the traditional Celtic harp (the clarsach). This is smaller - and therefore more portable - than the concert harp, so it is a particularly good choice if your harpist will need to play in more than one location. The clarsach sounds like this:
